Jo Bannister

Jo Bannister was born in England - Rochdale, Lancashire in 1951. Her parents traveled around, so she grew up knowing Birmingham, Nottingham, and Bangor in Northern Ireland. Ms. Bannister currently lives in that area.

Jo Bannister left school at sixteen and took a job as an office junior for a newspaper, the County Down Spectator. Rising through the ranks first as a journalist then as an editor, Ms. Bannister left the paper in 1988 to write full time. Jo Bannister is the author of more than twenty novels.

Ms. Bannister has won several awards for her writing, including one from the Royal Society of Arts and another from the British Press. Jo Bannister also writes short stories for the Ellery Queen magazine published here in the United States.

Jo Bannister's other interests are horseback riding and archeology.
