Julia Spencer-Fleming
Julia Spencer-Fleming is a former lawyer turned mystery writer. Ms. Spencer-Fleming revolted at the thought of still another attorney protagonist, so instead she invented a female who is an Episcopal priest with the background of being a former helicopter pilot in the military.
Julia Spencer-Fleming bases her writing on her own experience as a military brat and a regular attendee at the Episcopal church. Ms. Spencer-Fleming has won the St. Martins Malice Domestic Contest, the Dilys Award (Independent Mystery Booksellers Association), and the Agatha, Macavity and Barry Awards for Best First Novel.
Julia Spencer-Fleming lives and works in a 180-year-old farmhouse outside of Portland, Maine with her husband, three children and dog.
