Gerry Boyle

Gerry Boyle is the son of Irish immigrants, born while his parents were living with his paternal grandparents in Chicago. When Gerry was a toddler, his parents relocated to Rhode Island, where Boyle grew up in a comfortable middle-class environment, surrounded by a number of siblings in a good Catholic tradition ? and a number of books, which weren?t especially traditional at all.

Gerry Boyle attended high school in Warwick, Rhode Island, then went on to study literature at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Once Mr. Boyle had seen Maine and gotten a taste of writing, he was hooked on both counts. Mr. Boyle wrote a number of short stories and poetry during his time at Colby. Gerry Boyle left Maine for a while, but returned to become a reporter, then a columnist for two newspapers ? the Rumford Falls Times, and subsequently The Morning Sentinel, a daily in Waterville.

North Country Press published Gerry Boyle?s first Jack McMorrow novel, Deadline, and that book was soon followed by a second, published by Putman. Mr. Boyle has been writing about Jack McMorrow almost every year since. Gerry Boyle is also editor of the Colby College magazine. Mr. Boyle currently lives with his wife Mary, a teacher, and his three children in central Maine.
