Otto Penzler
Otto Penzler was born on July 8, 1942. Mr. Penzler lives at 129 West 56th Street in New York City, and owns the Mysterious Book Shop there at the same address.
Mr. Penzler was the founder of the Mysterious Press, now owned and run by the Time/Warner Book Publishers in New York.
Otto Penzler published The Armchair Detective, an Edgar winning quarterly devoted to mystery and suspense fiction, for seventeen years. Mr. Penzler still publishes The Armchair Detective Library, reprinting classic detective fiction for collectors and libraries. 1977 gave him another award, an Edgar for his Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection. Mr. Penzler is also the recipient of the Ellery Queen Award from the Mystery Writers of America for his contributions to the publishing field. Otto Penzler also received a Raven in 2003.
Mr. Penzler has published a number of mystery collections, authored by some very well-known and familiar names.
