The Hidden Assassins

by: Robert Wilson

C. J. Box

Canny, perhaps hiding from publicity, perhaps simply avoiding unwanted mail from fans, we know very little about C. J. Box except that he evidently is mostly at home in the wide open spaces or the mountains of the West. We don't know, for instance, where or when he was born.

From the scant information on his book jackets, we do know that Mr. Box has won a number of awards, including the Macavity, Gumshoe, Anthony and Barry - also the French Prix Calibre 38, and been a finalist for the Edgar Award (if he hasn't already won it) and the Los Angeles Book Prize.

We also know that C. J. Box has worked as a ranch hand, been a reporter and editor with a small-town newspaper, serves on the Board of Directors for the Cheyeene Frontier Days Rodeo and is the CEO of another western company.

Apparently a pleasant-looking man from the photo on the jacket of his latest book at this writing, he lives with his wife Laurie in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
