Ed McBain

Ed McBain, born Salvatore Lombino in 1926 in New York City, has been divorced twice, and married again in 1997. Mr. McBain holds a Phi Beta Kappa, has written more than 80 novels, many screenplays, and introduced the 87th Precinct novels to the world. Ed McBain demonstrates careful research in every area of the field he chooses for his mysteries; in this case, the circus. You learn more about the circus and circus inhabitants than you thought you might ever want to know! Gone are the days, for instance, when freaks like the fat lady or the two-headed dog boy were midway attractions. In our present day, midway stars are actual performers ? the only leftovers being those like the sword swallower or fire eater. But research isn?t the only reason Mr. McBain?s novels are so popular. One of the most deservedly illustrious names in crime fiction, Ed McBain holds the very coveted Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America. His huge output of writing, - all of it good, perhaps should earn him some other kind of award for being one of the most prolific people in the business! Mr. McBain has written under a number of nom de plumes: Evan Hunter, Hunt Collins, Ezra Hansom, Richard Marsten, John Abbot, and Curt Cannon. He continues to write best sellers both here and abroad, where he's known and revered everywhere from the Czech Republic to Sweden and every country in between.
