Susan Isaacs

Susan Isaacs is more than a novelist - she's also an essayist and screenwriter. Ms. Isaccs was born in Brooklyn and educated at Queens College.

Susan Isaacs was an editorial assistant for Seventeen Magazine, and in 1968 married Elkan Abramowitz, then a federal prosecutor. Abramowitz later became a criminal defense lawyer and Ms. Isaccs moved up to become a senior editor.

In 1970, Susan Isaacs left Seventeen to have and take care of her new son, Andrew. Three years later she had her daughter, Elizabeth. During this period Ms. Isaacs freelanced with magazine articles and writing political speeches.

It wasn't until the mid-seventies that Susan Isaacs wrote her initial novel, Compromising Positions, which was later made into a movie for Paramount Studios.
From then on, Ms. Isaacs had it made - in addition to her novels, she's written non-fiction and news articles.

Susan Isaacs is a past president of the Mystery Writers of America, and is the recipient of a number of awards, including one from Writers for Writers and the John Steinbeck Award. Ms. Isaacs belongs to a number of boards, has written reviews for such prestigious publications as the New York Times.

Susan Isaacs currently lives on Long Island, New York, with her husband.
