Peter Temple

Peter Temple, a caucasian, was born in South Africa. In 1980, he moved to Sydney, Australia, to becomne a journalist, then moved to Melbourne to edit Australian Society magazine.

Mr. Temple has since worked as both journalist and editor for a number of publications in a number of different countries.

Peter Temple has also taught, and played an important part in setting up the Professional Writing and Editing course at the Melbourne RMIT University.

Mr. Temple turned to full-time writing in 1995, producing a number of mystery novels based in Australia, some of which feature Jack Irish, his protagonist.

Peter Temple has won four Ned Kelly Awards (in Australia, the eqivalent of an Edgar), the only author to win that many.

Mr. Temple presently lives in Ballarat, Australia, with his family.
