The Hidden Assassinsby: Robert Wilson |
Jeffrey ArcherBorn in the London Maternity Hospital on April 15, 1940, Jeffrey Archer spent most of his early years in Weston-super-mare, a seaside town located in North Somerset, England. It's difficult to know exactly what facts about this writer's life are true, since he definitely has an affinity for spreading false rumors, but we have it on authority that he attended Wellington School (not Wellington College in Berkshire) and from there went on to accept a number of jobs, training with the army, the police, and teaching at Dover College. Mr. Archer also studied at Oxford, staying on for three years, although initially he had gone for a one year diploma in education. There he excelled at athletics, and was instrumental in a charity fundraising drive during which he was photographed with the Beatles in the Senior Common Room at Oxford's Brasenose College. Jeffrey Archer tried a career in politics, serving as MP for the Conservative Party and being elevated to the House of Lords in 1992. When he was threatened with bankruptcy from bad investments, Lord Archer turned to writing, making a considerable success of it. Unfortunately, it seems that Mr. Archer knows the underbelly of life from personal experience. Not only is he apt to - let's say embroider - the facts of his life, but he was caught stealing, has weathered one suit for libel, and been accused of perjury. Jeffrey Archer, also legitimately known as Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare, has spent time in prison. Lord Archer takes most of his characters from the upper levels of society, often using well-known names as people portrayed in his books. Jeffrey Archer has entertained the public with wonderful, devious plots and delightful chacterizations for over twenty-five years, causing one to speculate on his apparent need to blithely enter the darker halls of experience. Lord Archer has written a number of short stories and plays as well as his famous novels. Lord Jeffrey Archer is married to Lady Mary Archer. He continues to have the loyal support of both her and his two sons, Will and James. Murder Mystery ReviewsBooks by this author we have reviewed: |
