Laura Durham

Born Laura Weatherly, from her book cover photos, Laura Durham is probably in her thirties; however we're not informed of her actual age. Here's another author who evidently prefers to keep her personal life private, including the time and place of her birth (most likely somewhere in North Caolina)and type of childhood.

Laura Durham graduated from Duke University (presumably the one in Durham, North Carolina) with a major in English. I doubt that Ms. Durham is related to the founders of that town, but she may have decided to take her pseudonym from it!

After graduation, Ms. Durham co-founded her wedding planning business, called Engaging Affairs, which rapidly became the most highly recommended event planning company in Washington D.C. where it was located. Laura Durham was also voted the best overall wedding planner by the Washington Magazine for the past five years, starting in 2001.

Ms. Durham is well acquainted with the Secret Service, which isn't much of a surprise, given the political location of her business and the type of wedding clients for whom she plans.

Dealing with unreasonable and often obnoxious people is par for the course in her company, and that's what led Laura Durham into writing about murder. Ms. Durham fortunately has a keen sense of humor and uses it to great effect in her novels.

Laura Durham naturally lives in Washington D.C.
