Deborah LeBlanc

Born in the small town of Scott, close to the more familiar Layfayette, Louisiana, Deborah LeBlanc has always been attracted to writing. Ms. LeBlanc actually started early, writing her first short story in second grade (when she was supposed to be concentrating an an arithmetic assignment). The story was so good that after reprimanding her, the teacher encouraged her to aim for a writing career.

Ms. Leblanc preferred to work in primarily male-oriented industries, where her femininity challenged the entrenched men with her equal knowledge and talent. Deborah LeBlanc has been a sales rep for an oil company, an executive VP for a transportation company, and eventually worked in her own created corporations: A fuel industry and a consulting management business for funeral services. She now numbers novel writing among her accomplishments.

Deborah LeBlanc is an active member of several writers' groups, winning a number of awards from both her colleagues and national writing associations. She has also instituted an annual contest called The Literacy Challenge - devised to increase familiarity with both reading and author recognition.

Deborah LeBlanc married young, right out of high school, and remains with her husband in south central Louisiana. They are the parents of three children.
