Mr. Cummings always wrote. He was also a photographer when he was eighteen and then moonlighted as a sheriff while in college. What college? Sorry - we don't know. Doug M. Cummings began his association with fires, car crashes, burglaries and murders while performing as sheriff, then went ahead to broadcasting, where he spent the next 25 years.

Doug M. Cummings has worked as a crime and breaking news reporter for WMAQ and WGN, receiving numerous awards for his coverage. He has since used a number of his actual experiences as basis for his novels.

Mr. Cummings currently lives with his cat, Socks-Monster, in suburban Chicago.

Doug M. Cummings worked in Kansas City, then for WMAQ in Chicago and finally for WGN in that same city. Evidently he's still there.
