Vicki Lane
Vicki Lane moved to North Carolina with her husband in 1975 from Florida. Unfortunately, we know nothing of Ms. Lane's early life, where (or when) she was born, and her schooling, other than the fact that she did attend a college, and taught English (where?) for 9 years before moving to the mountains.
We don't have information on any awards or other accomplishments.
Her fictional protagonist, Elizabeth Goodweather, reflects Vicki Lane herself, having once, like Elizabeth, milked a cow and kept pigs, raised tobacco and farmed with mules. Also like Elizabeth, Vicki Lane no longer does these things, but instead still cans, gardens, and keeps chickens. Always a poet from very early years, Vicki Lane started to write in earnest after attending a writer's class in September of the year 2000.
Ms. Lane is a quilter and has also provided the public with two books on quilting.
Vicki Lane presently lives with her husband in North Carolina on the same farm they emigrated to from Florida along with assorted dogs and other pets. Ms. Lane's two grown sons also live on the property in separate houses.
