Nevada Barr
Nevada Barr (can that be her real name?) Yes. Born March 1, 1952, her unusual name came from a favorite character in one of her father's books.
Daughter of two pilots, Nevada Barr matured in Susanville, California, about eighty miles northwest of Reno. Ms. Barr was schooled at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and attended grauate school at the University of California at Irvine.
Nevada Barr is now a National Park Ranger with experience in a number of United States National Parks, including the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. That alone would have assisted in her abilities in conjuring the feelings of space and isolation she portrays so well.
Nevada Barr spent five years in New York City, pursuing a career in theatre with the Classic Stage Company before deserting the Big Apple for the wide open spaces.
Ms. Barr has also hit the New York Times bestselling list with some of her many previous Anna Pigeon mysteries.
She now lives with her husband in Clinton, Mississippi, continuing to turn out books with stories to rivet our attention and hold us in thrall.
