Joyce Krieg
Joyce Krieg was born in a small town in middle America, probably sometime in the late forties or early fifties of the twentieth century. Her family moved to South Bay, California, just prior to its transformation into Silicon Valley.
Always fascinated with the written word, Joyce Krieg graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Journalism and got a job with the Woodland Daily Democrat, learning to produce copy on a deadline. Her interest in radio grew along with her interest in the woman's movement and equality with male-dominated provinces. So, after earning her broadcasting First Class Radio Telephone License, she managed to secure a job at Sacramento's KFBK NewsTalk 1530.
Joyce Krieg eventually became Promotion Manager for KFBK, putting aside her dream of becoming a writer for a while. Then the corporate merger mania began, and Joyce Krieg was one of the first to be downsized.
Her novel about talk radio was suddenly resurrected from oblivion under her bed when Ms. Krieg came across a contest for 'Best First Traditional Mysetery' conducted by St. Martins Press. She entered and won.
Joyce Krieg is currently writing two further mystery novels - her contract with St. Martins probably calls for three. We'll hope for more, and improvement with each one, demonstrating increased skill in the medium. 'Murder Off Mike' definitely shows a promise we expect to blossom!
