Batya Gur
Batya Gur was born in 1947 in Tel Aviv. We do not know much about her, other than that she was a student of literature. Ms. Gur worked first as a teacher, then became a journatlist. Evidently she took the advice of a psychoanalyst connected somehow with the paper where she was employed, and the result was her first detective novel, 'Because at the Sabbat, you are to rest.' This book became a German crime film.
Batya Gur uses Supervisor Michael Ochajon as her protagonist, and her most famous work to date is a series about this detective. Ms. Gur has written six Michael Ochajon novels so far. Batya Gur has also written three other books - 'Thus did I not present it to me', 'Stone for Stone', and 'The black Schatulle.'
At present, all we know is that Batya Gur lives with the creators and backers of the well-known daily Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz, in Jerusalem.
