John Grisham

John Grisham is probably best known for his second novel turned into a movie - 'The Firm,' starring Tom Cruise. But at least seven of his books have likewise hit the big screen. John Grisham's novels are in print worldwide, totalling more than 60 million copies altogether. Mr. Grisham is justly dubbed 'the bestselling author of the nineties.'

John Grisham was born on February 8, 1955 in Joneboro, Arkansas, going on to major in accounting at Mississippi State University and graduating from law school at Ole Miss in 1981. Mr. Grisham practiced law for almost ten years in Southaven, taking cases for criminal defense and personal injury. In 1983 John Grisham was elected to the State House of Representatives and served in that capacity until 1990.

John Grisham's fascination with baseball has led him to build six ballfields, and serves as the local Little League Commissioner. Other charitable causes also occupy any free time.

John Grisham divides his home between a Victorian farmhouse in Mississippi and a plantation near Charlottesville, Virginia. Mr. Grisham lives in each with his wife Renee plus his two children, Ty and Shea.
