The Hidden Assassins

by: Robert Wilson

David Rosenfelt

Like I've already mentioned, people from New Jersey who can afford it move someplace else as soon as they can. David Rosenfelt now lives in Southern California. He is to be congratulated for having escaped (I was also born in New Jersey, so I know what I'm talking about!).

David Rosenfelt was born and grew up in Paterson, New Jersey, the middle son of three boys. He lived with loving parents in a middle-class house and accomplished all the usual activities of a growing boy, playing sports and studying when he felt like it. In other words, his early years were entirely normal(?) although you might wonder about that after you read his books!

David Rosenfelt graduated from NYU. Since he had an uncle who was President of United Artists, Mr. Rosenfelt decided to enter the movie industry, eventually becoming the President of Marketing for Tri-Star Pictures. Leaving the movie marketing field, he became what he is now - a writer, although his first efforts involved screenplays which never saw the big screen and some TV episodes which actually made it. David Rosenfelt is married and has two children.

Mr. Rosenfelt's first two novels were
"Open and Shut", which earned him a nomination for the Edgar, and "First Degree" which was selected as one of the best mystery novels of the year by Publishers Weekly. All of his books to date feature Andy Carpenter, the wealthy but laid-back lawyer.

David Rosenfelt has a Golden Retriever dog named Tara, and along with his wife he started the Tara Foundation, which rescues sick or unhealthy dogs from certain death. The Tara Foundation cures them when possible to find them loving homes. This means there are usually at least thirty-some dogs at the Rosenfelt digs. Let's hope they aren't all inside the house at the same time!
